As you make your way home today, you will have noticed many childcare centres in your neighbourhood.
Many of these centres have long waiting lists, which drives demand for new centres to open and with new centres opening, the demand for qualified educators is ever present.
So, now you have a choice between two qualifications. Below outlines the key elements in both courses.

CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
Core Units = 15 Elective Units = 3
Vocational hours = 120 hours
Duration = 1 year
To obtain employment in our sector, Australian law requires as a minimum you must hold or be actively working towards the CHC30113 Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care. This qualification covers workers who use organisation policies, procedure and individual children’s profiles to plan activities and provide care to children, facilitating their leisure and play and enabling them to achieve their developmental outcomes.
This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of early childhood education settings who work within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. Students will learn to support the implementation of an approved learning framework, and support children’s learning and development. This qualification will enable direct supervision or autonomous work activity in a range of child care facilities such as full day care centres, occasional care facilities, crèches and early learning centres as an Early Childhood Educator.
